Even before he became a financial advisor, Roger's career focused on planning having completed a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from Kansas State University. His professional life started as a landscape architect/land planner where he focused on land-use planning, design, creative ideas and budget development all leading to project implementation. Years later, he attended the University of Denver to study business and later completed a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Kansas. He maintains regular supplemental education and training to satisfy both his love of learning and to appropriately apply current knowledge in his profession. One interesting side-note to Roger's history is that prior to immigrating to the U.S., his grandfather, as a young man was a teenage apprentice to a Swiss bookkeeping office where he had the privilege of working with Albert Einstein. "Grandpa said he knew Einstein before he was famous!"

Roger joined Raymond James in 1994 as a financial advisor and is licensed as a securities principal. Additional studies lead him to the Certified Investment Management Consultant (CIMC)® and a Certified Private Wealth Advisor (CPWA)® designations. He works closely with his clients' to plan for specific wealth transition events and resultant capital management, applying both the appropriate wisdom and financial tools to address these real-life circumstances.

Roger plans his time so to actively enjoy his family, including his wife, Sharon, and their three adult children. He enjoys hiking, outdoorsmen activities, snow sports and biking. His community activities have included serving as a planning commissioner for the Lawrence-Douglas County Metropolitan Planning Committee from 1998 to 2004, and a past board member of the O'Connell Youth Ranch. His Christian faith-based involvements have included group Bible studies, youth Christian education, and chairing multiple church facilities capital improvement projects. An Eagle Scout himself, Roger also volunteered with a local Boy Scout Troop.
