Gavin McLay joined Hearn Hoyt Ramsey Wealth Management in August 2020 as an Intern while attending Florida State University in Tallahassee. He graduated in April 2021 with Bachelor of Science Degrees in both Finance and Marketing.

Since then, Gavin has earned his Series 7 General Securities License and now thrives as a Financial Planning Consultant. He combines his extensive knowledge with a proactive approach to managing all the team's trading activities, from discretionary portfolio model trading to creating Certificate of Deposit ladders and Municipal and Corporate bond ladders. Gavin also excels in client and institutional reporting, discretionary model research, and client Goal Planning. His proficiency in advanced financial planning modeling, such as Roth conversions, ensures clients receive tailored strategies to meet their financial goals. Gavin is always ready to assist clients with account transfers (ACH & wires), research requests, paperwork, and a variety of other service-related matters.

Born and raised in St. Petersburg, Gavin's love for the water began early. He earned his Captain's license through the United States Coast Guard at just 18 and launched a successful fishing charter service. His passion for fishing has taken him to many competitive tournaments in the Tampa Bay area, the Florida Keys, Bahamas, and Dominican Republic.

Gavin is deeply committed to his community, volunteering for nonprofits like Tampa Bay Watch, Special Olympics, and Sol Relief. When he's not helping clients or giving back, you'll likely find him on the water, chasing everything from Redfish to Blue Marlin.
