Jim started in1984 as a financial advisor, beginning his career with Juran & Moody, Inc. He accumulated 17 years of experience there before transitioning his investment practice in 2001 to Raymond James as Vice President, Investments. After working 20 years at the Belleair/Largo complex, he now works remotely from his home near Annapolis, MD.

Jim earned his Associates of Arts in 1982 from St. Petersburg College and his Bachelors of Business Administration from Stetson University in 1984. Jim has furthered his financial education by completing the Raymond James Financial Planning Series and earning his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification in 2004. Jim stays current in the financial and insurance environment by completing continuing education every year.

Jim and his wife, Mary, now reside in Davidsonville, MD, after raising their three sons Andrew, Mark, & Sam in Clearwater, FL. Mary is currently an English adjunct professor at Anne Arundel Community College. Andrew earned his undergraduate degree at Providence College and a MBA at Franklin Pierce College. He resides in Baltimore, MD, working as a Senior Business Analyst for athena health; Mark is a graduate of The George Washington University where he majored in Graphic Design and is the Web Designer for Loyola University Maryland; his wife Julia is a Graduate Admission Counselor for the Maryland Institute College for Art; Sam and his girlfriend Macey are both graduates from the University of Mississippi and are now living in Denver, CO. Sam is a software developer for CAS, and Macey is a Venue Sales Associate for the Denver Botanic Gardens.

Volunteering has always been important to Jim, as he was a youth baseball coach for 17 years and a driver for Meals on Wheels for 15 years while he lived in Florida. Currently he serves on the board for the Community Dental Clinic heading the investment committee; a member of the Rotary Club of South Arundel County, MD and sponsors Midshipmen from the US Naval Academy. He is also a member of the Innocence Project which helps exonerate wrongly convicted people, and Reporters Without Borders, an organization that promotes and defends freedom of information and speech worldwide.
