Prior to joining Raymond James with his team in 2015, James was a financial advisor with Wells Fargo for 6 years and held the title Assistant Vice President. Before that, he served as an investment counselor with SunTrust Investment Services and as a financial advisor with Ameriprise Financial for more than three years. He earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration with a focus on finance from Georgia Southern University. In 2008 and 2009 respectively, James earned the designation of Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor℠ and Chartered Retirement Planning Specialist® from the College for Financial Planning. In 2018 James earned the designation of Certified Estate Planner™.

Originally from Macon, Georgia, James lives in Clayton and has two children, Susannah and Wesley.
