Oley Kinser Concierge Wealth: Our Practice, By the Numbers

Acquisition Experience

  • Our team completed a successful acquisition in December 2022 – with an extremely high client retention rate (RJFS practice to RJFS practice) to date. We focused on continuity by retaining existing team members and minimizing change from a client’s perspective.
  • Team and Infrastructure – We have an experienced team that has decades to go in the business. Our infrastructure gives us the capacity to handle growth through acquisitions and organically through marketing.
  • We manage wealth through comprehensive financial planning, professional management, and an obsession for service.
  • Most importantly, our team is trusted, caring and competent.

Succession Considerations

  • Team capacity, infrastructure, and scalability
  • Proven track record of success
  • Experience in acquisitions
  • RJFS to RJFS (a very easy transition)
  • Focus on taking care of your team
  • Obsessive with client care and attention to detail
  • We focus on growing our enterprise, always mindful of protecting our current clients. This ensures continued success for your retirement, team, and clients
  • Competency in portfolios and plans; 2 Certified Financial Planner™ professionals and 1 CFA® charterholder
  • Brett and Ryan both made the transition from UBS to Raymond James (both had extremely high retention rates)
  • Trustworthy, competent, likeable people and team

Risks to Consider with Alternatives

  • An acquisition external to Raymond James involves changing custodians, “repapering,” and general change for your team and clients.
  • Seeking a younger, “hungry,” competent, trustworthy, and successful group with capacity to take care of your enterprise can be challenging.

Next Steps: Transitioning into an Action Plan

We’ve successfully done this before and will be your partner throughout the process. Here is our “step-by-step” guide to the general process:

  1. Exchange Branch Focus and/or Financial Reports on Your Business: Gain greater understanding of each practice and potential combined entry.
  2. Discuss and Update Your Catastrophic Plan: Complete with Keith Kopperud (Successions and Acquisitions at RJFS).
  3. Asset Purchase Agreement and Supplemental Documents: Raymond James supplies the documents and reviews. Determine: Valuation Date, Execution Date, and Deal Structure.
  4. Collaborate with Professionals: Work with respective attorneys (RJFS has as well) to draft purchase agreement and CPA to confirm tax structure of the deal.
  5. Book of Business Analysis: In preparation, perform deep dive understanding of clients, service level, investment strategy, planning, account structure, licensing, etc.
  6. Financing the Deal: Once deal structure agreed upon, acquisition loan underwriting through Raymond James for OKCW will take 4-6 weeks.
  7. Marketing and Communication Preparation: Full team to discuss acquisition marketing strategy and communication with clients.
  8. Execution with Utmost Care and Follow-Through.
