Matt is deeply dedicated to his work because he knows that managing finances is one of those most important things that people need to do, but may also be one of the most misunderstood – which means there is a lot of opportunity to make a difference in people’s lives.

He works with families, business owners and individuals in or nearing retirement, helping them define their personal goals so he can personalize a financial plan and help manage an investment portfolio designed to get them there – using the financial resources they have available.

Matt serves institutional clients as well. He applies his institutional experience to provide guidance on investment policy statements, investment search and selection, performance reporting, research and due diligence.

Matt believes in being open and honest with his clients. He wants them to know that he will do what he says he will do. As a Certified Financial Planner^™ professional, Matt adheres to the CFP Board’s code of ethics for integrity, objectivity, competence, fairness, confidentiality, professionalism and diligence.

In addition, Matt is a Certified Investment Management Analyst^℠. He understands the financial complexities and risks that come with being in the highest tax bracket and understands how your individual investments work together.

Matt joined Raymond James in 2019, together with CJ and their team, attracted by the firm’s culture of putting clients first. Previously, Matt was a financial advisor with Merrill Lynch for 14 years. He is a National Merit Scholar and a graduate of the University of Florida, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration with an emphasis on sports management. He served as a student manager for the Florida Gators football team, prior to spending three years as an assistant manager with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Matt was born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, but spent most of his life in Jacksonville and St. Augustine, Florida. Today, he lives in Tyrone, Georgia, with his wife, Olivia, and their five daughters, Sarah Jane, Rachel, Josie, Marleigh and Noah. Two of Matt’s favorite leisure-time pursuits are basketball and reading.
