Richard began his career in financial services in 1976 and previously spent eight years with Loewi & Co., five years with Kidder Peabody, 20 years with Smith Barney and 12 years with Baird. Today, alongside his son, Jeffrey, Richard provides financial and estate planning through the use of equities, fixed income securities, managed money, 529 education savings plans and more through Raymond James. Together, the father and son team strive to be with you every step of the way, offering sound advice and customized financial strategies designed specifically for you. “It puts a big smile on my face to work with my son, Jeff, every day,” said Richard. “I’m one very lucky man.”

Richard endeavors to create long-term, meaningful relationships with a select group of clients spanning multiple generations and provide them with personalized financial planning advice using some of the industry’s most comprehensive resources. “It gives me joy to realize how many of our clients are from a second-generation relationship,” he said. “In some cases, even third generation.” His investment process takes into account your investing experience, your expectations for returns, your tolerance for risk and the performance of your portfolio.

Based on what he learns about you and your goals and an analysis of the current financial markets, Richard designs customized investment strategies based on recommendations made solely with your best interest in mind. He then takes the time to explain his recommendations, and, once you are comfortable with the new plan, Richard puts it into action and keeps the lines of communication open regarding its performance to adapt to life changes and new goals.

Richard has enjoyed his role as a business commentator for ABC 7 (WWSB-TV) since 1987. You can watch him cover the day’s business and stock market news every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday at 5 p.m. as well as noon every Monday. When reflecting on over three decades with the station, Richard remarked, “The two best parts? The people I’ve worked with and interacting with viewers.”

Away from the office, Richard is active in his community. He has served as a board member for United Way of Sarasota County, Racing Dog Rescue Project, Wellness Community of Sarasota, Sarasota-Manatee Jewish Federation and Sarasota-Manatee Jewish Housing Council. In his spare time, he enjoys playing tennis and traveling with Kathy, his wife of 50 years. A native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Richard resides in Sarasota, Florida, and has since 1984.
