Matthew Wigren is co-owner of Alden Capital Management LLC along with his sister, Laura Christofferson. In January 2017, they bought the family business from their father, Scott Wigren, who is still an advisor for the firm.
Matt originally joined the family team in 2010. Matt takes a holistic approach to helping you manage your portfolios and retirement plans. He has worked with many retirees of top firms in the Puget Sound, as well as smaller, independent offices.
As a Certified Investment Management Analyst® (CIMA®) advisor, Matt has completed the peak international, technical portfolio construction certification program of investment consultants. Matt is head of our Investment Committee and enjoys utilizing the latest research and technology to analyze individual securities. Matt also holds numerous securities licenses, including the Series 7, 66, 9 and 10.
Matt earned a bachelor’s degree from Gonzaga University in political science with a minor in economics. While studying in Vietnam, Matt earned a Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA) from Cambridge University.
When not working with clients, Matt enjoys playing and coaching lacrosse with a variety of teams on the Eastside and in Seattle, continuing on from his time playing for Gonzaga University’s lacrosse team. He lives in Seattle, and stays active through outdoor sports including hiking, golfing and snowboarding.
