John’s ability to develop strategies, analyze asset allocation models and lead the investment committee fills a vital role in the Cantera Capital Partners investment approach. His skill and knowledge have proved to be valuable assets for both the Cantera team and the clients served by the practice.
John has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and an MBA in finance from Pace University. John holds Series 7, 63 and 65 securities registrations as well as applicable insurance licenses.
With more than 30 years of investment management and financial advising experience, John’s professional résumé includes serving as a research analyst for Ladenburg, Thalmann & Company and later director of research and a financial advisor with Arneson, Kercheville & Associates and later Kercheville & Company. Most recently John was associated with the Gatlin, Laurence, Nebens and Valadez Wealth Management Group of Wells Fargo Advisors. In March 2018, John, along with his partners, formed Cantera Capital Partners of Raymond James.
John and his wife, Meg, live in San Antonio and they have three daughters.
