Having worked in the financial services industry since 2000, Karen offers clients extensive knowledge of comprehensive wealth management. She specializes in working alongside entrepreneurial physicians, dentists, and other successful professionals and families to navigate a clear path toward their long-term financial goals, enabling them to continue focusing on what they do best and care about most. Karen is also a financial author and writer, with articles published by Medical Economics, Physician’s Practice, and DentistryIQ.com.
The benefits of basic financial planning were made quite clear to Karen with the tragic loss of her father when he was just 40 years old. Because her parents had implemented those basic wealth management strategies, her family was able to mitigate the financial setbacks that often accompany life’s unpredictable and challenging circumstances. Karen is passionate about helping clients to safeguard their wealth, ensuring they maintain their financial confidence through life’s unforeseen events.
Karen has attained the prestigious CFP© certification, one of the most respected financial planning credentials among consumers and a recognized standard of excellence in personal financial planning. CFP© professionals complete a rigorous and comprehensive program, which covers the financial planning process, tax planning, employee benefits and retirement planning, estate planning, investment management and insurance.
Karen also holds Series 7, 24 and 63, and life and health insurance licenses, and is a Registered Principal and Investment Management Consultant (IMC).* She earned a bachelor’s degree in art history from the American University of Paris, France.
Karen is a member of the Financial Planning Association. She serves on the board of the Community Foundation of Washington County, as well as the Women’s Giving Circle of Washington County, Maryland. In her spare time, she stays active as an avid tennis player and is an unabashed food and wine enthusiast.
Karen has lived and traveled internationally, but will always consider the Chicago area she grew up in as her hometown. She lives in Hagerstown, Maryland, with her husband, David, and their children, Abe and Max.
