Matthew A. Lyman,

CFP® Senior Vice President, Wealth Management

Over more than 23 years as a financial advisor, Matt has served clients by listening well and knowing their needs and goals inside and out. “I truly care about my clients’ financial success and I know my clients extremely well. Not just their goals, time frames and risk tolerance, but also how that pertains to their family and estate planning needs,” he says. He finds purpose in his work, developing financial plans and building investment portfolios for high-net-worth individuals and company retirement plans.

He joined Raymond James along with the Coeur Private Wealth Management Group in May 2020, drawn by its client-first philosophy. His career in financial services includes 15 years at Smith Barney/Morgan Stanley as a vice president and financial advisor, and nine years at Merrill Lynch as a senior vice president of wealth management. He is a Certified Financial Plannerprofessional, having demonstrated the expertise required to act as a plan fiduciary or help plan fiduciaries manage their roles and responsibilities.

A North Idaho native, he earned a bachelor’s degree from Pennsylvania State University, where he traveled around the country playing college rugby. “I was fortunate to see so many beautiful places. Of all the places I saw, nothing compared to the beauty and the outdoor opportunities of the Pacific Northwest. I love where I live and being involved in making this a better community for everyone,” Matt says.

His work in the community includes serving on the Coeur d’Alene Rotary Endowment Foundation Board and the Hayden Lake Country Club Board of Directors, serving as chair for A Field for all Seasons for Timbers-Thorns North FC, and working with CASA of North Idaho. He is past president of Coeur d’Alene Rotary and a founding board member of Coeur d’Alene Charter Academy.

Matt lives in Coeur d’Alene with his wife, Kelly. They have four daughters: Jordynn, Rylie, Madison and Abbie. When he’s away from the office, Matt enjoys skiing, fly-fishing (locally and saltwater), hunting, playing golf and traveling.
