With over 30 years spent helping individuals and corporations as a financial advisor, Brian has become well-versed in the unique challenges of plan sponsors and individual investors. When he founded True North Retirement Partners, he sought to bring efficiency and needed support to fiduciaries, while providing clarity and purpose for families and individuals as they plan for their future.
Brian has been widely recognized for his expertise in the financial services industry and among his peers, having been quoted in Forbes, Crain’s Chicago Business, CNBC.com, On Wall Street and the Financial Times.
Brian is an active leader within Raymond James. He is the Complex Manager for Illinois and has served on the Raymond James Executive Council. He is a member of the Raymond James Retirement Plan & Institutional Advisory Council (RIAC), a dedicated group of advisors nationwide that have made retirement plan consulting their primary focus and which accounts for less than 1% of all Raymond James advisors.
An esteemed professional in the finance community, Brian has frequently been a speaker at various industry conferences, and has lobbied on behalf of investors in Washington, D.C. He regularly attends and participates in educational and industry conferences, including those sponsored by the Center for Due Diligence (CFDD), American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries (ASPPA), National Association of Plan Advisors (NAPA), Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA), Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA) and the PlanSponsor National Conference, among others. Brian fulfills many hours in continuing education annually and has completed coursework in employee benefits, retirement planning and investment consulting.
Brian is highly credentialed having earned a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in finance from Marquette University. He has also completed rigorous coursework to earn the Certified Investment Management AnalystSM (CIMA®) designation from the Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA), the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®) designation from the Center for Fiduciary Studies and the Wealth Management Specialist™ (WMS) designation from Kaplan University.
Brian, his wife and three children live in Downers Grove. In their free time he and his family enjoy traveling and many outdoor activities.
