Stephen Wilson is a Certified Financial Planner® professional and Financial Advisor with Raymond James Financial Services, Inc., the independent advisor network. This network is comprised of some 4800 independent advisors from coast to coast which provide individual solutions specifically for individual financial needs. As a Certified Financial Planner® professional, Stephen has been tested and obtained a high level of technical understanding in areas of financial planning including retirement plan analysis, tax and estate planning. Additionally, Certified Financial Planner® certificants must ascribe to high ethical standards and commit to ongoing educational requirements. Per the CFP Board, less than 10% of all financial advisors have obtained this professional designation.
Stephen joined Raymond James in April, 2009. He has over 30 years of experience in financial services, including having received the Life Underwriting Training Council Fellow (LUTCF) designation. During his tenure at Smith Barney, he held the titles of Guided Portfolio Manager (GPM) and Second Vice-President Wealth Management. Stephen has numerous securities licenses including Series 3, 6, 63, 65, and 7, 9, 10, as well as Group 1 (Life, Health & Accident Insurance).
Stephen has a BS in Chemistry from the University of Texas Permian Basin (1975). He has also done graduate work at the University of Houston in Business/Finance (1980-82). Stephen is the branch manager for two independent Raymond James offices, a main office in Odessa and a satellite office in Wylie. Stephen believes in youth and community involvement and has participated in the Junior Achievement program through local school districts. He is a member of UT Permian Basin's Business Advisory Committee and a Board Member of Meals on Wheels, Odessa.
Stephen and his wife, Debi, live in Odessa, but spend a significant amount of time in the Wylie area. They have 2 boys. Brian and his wife, Allison, live in Wylie with their three children, Carley, Brayden and Rhys. Chris and his wife, Mindy, live in Chromo, CO with their children, Shobin and Nova.
Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Center for Financial Planning, Inc. owns and licenses the certification marks CFP®, Certified Financial Planner®, and CFP® (with plaque design) in the United States to Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc., which authorizes individuals who successfully complete the organization's initial and ongoing certification requirements to use the certification marks.
