Richard is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) and has 33 years of experience in the investment management industry. The Chartered Financial Analyst® credential is considered by many industry peers to be the most respected and recognized investment designation. Over the course of his extensive career, Richard has developed the skills needed for in-depth security analysis, portfolio construction and management tailored to each client’s needs.

As an investment specialist, Richard derives great satisfaction from helping clients adopt and adhere to investment strategies designed to pursue their individual and family goals. He has long been fascinated by the intersection of the capital markets and individual investor – which drives his passionate and thoughtful approach to selecting investments and building portfolios for our clients. Before establishing Harmony Wealth Partners in 2014, Richard served as Executive Director and Investment Team Lead at JPMorgan Private Bank; Senior Vice President and Investment Director at PNC Wealth Management; and Portfolio Manager at Hilliard Lyons Investment Management Group – all based in Louisville.

Earlier in his career, he served as an equity analyst at Johnston, Lemon & Company in Washington, D.C., Treasurer of Geneva Steel Blanking Company in Youngstown, Ohio and equity analyst at Dean Investment Associates in Dayton, Ohio. Prior to his career in the financial services Richard earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Washington & Lee University and an MBA from Georgetown University.

Dedicated to serving his community, Richard served on the board of the Kentucky Public Employees Deferred Compensation Authority for nearly eight years, and has participated for many years in Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kentuckiana in several capacities, including mentor, big brother and board member.

Originally from Youngstown, Ohio, Richard lives in Louisville with his wife, Anne. They have two adult children, Rye and Henry.
