With more than 41 years in the financial services industry, Jonathan is knowledgeable in financial planning, with a specialty in investment management and providing financial guidance for individuals, families and nonprofit institutions. Jonathan employs an active partnering strategy with clients through a productive and collaborative process to help clients strategically pursue their goals. A good listener, Jonathan is passionate about helping clients by providing clear and actionable guidance they can apply to their personal and financial lives.
Before joining Raymond James, Jonathan was a financial advisor and senior vice president of investments with A.G. Edwards & Sons, Inc., which would later become Wachovia Securities, then Wells Fargo Advisors. After attending the University of Missouri’s journalism school, he entered the advertising industry in St. Louis and, in 1980, began working alongside his father, Norman and brother, Sandy, at The Heitner Corporation to help establish Heitner Equities, a discount brokerage division of The Heitner Corporation. During his career at The Heitner Corporation Jonathan served as Vice President, serving clients as well as acting as a sales and advertising manager, and participating in investment banking process as member of underwriting committee. Jonathan holds a bachelor’s degree in English literature from Boston University.
Jonathan is a former board member of Urban Homes of St. Louis and the Meramec River Recreation Association. He is also a former board member and past board president of Trailnet, advocating, planning and educating for better walking and biking in St. Louis.
A St. Louis native, Jonathan enjoys fishing, hiking racquet sports and riding bikes in his spare time. He and his wife, Susan, have a daughter, Katelyn. Their family loves the outdoors and animals, at one point having two cats, three dogs, two ducks and one horse at their home in St. Louis County.
