Jay truly enjoys serving people and helping them pursue their cherished goals in life. He creates intricate financial plans designed to help bring clarity to the future goals of each client.
He provides multigenerational families, individuals and business owners with a full range of financial services including but not limited to: retirement planning, education planning, estate planning, and professional portfolio construction and investment management.
Friendly and detail oriented, Jay puts his clients at ease, while carefully listening to them and paying attention to every detail in order to help them address their goals and needs.
“My goals for clients are to build relationships that withstand the ups and downs of the financial markets,” Jay says. “I want to grow with my clients and create a multigenerational legacy by working with all members of the family.”
As a Certified Financial Planner™ practitioner, Jay has attained the prestigious CFP® certification, one of the most respected financial planning credentials. It is the recognized standard of excellence in personal financial planning. He adheres to the CFP Board’s code of ethics for integrity, objectivity, competence, fairness, confidentiality, professionalism and diligence.
He follows a fiduciary standard throughout the financial planning engagement, placing clients’ interests ahead of his own when providing professional services.
Jay’s favorite verse in the Bible is 2 Corinthians 9:8. It says, “And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.” Jay believes that God is the Great Provider and lives open-handed looking for opportunities to share His blessing with others. Jay supports local ministries such as Choices Women’s Center, The 516 Project and Lifepoint Church.
Jay founded Lantern Wealth Management of Raymond James with Bobby Miller in April 2022. “Raymond James gives us all of the tools and technology we need to serve our clients well,” Jay says. Previously in his career, Jay was a Financial Advisor at Merrill Lynch, he holds a B.A. in Economics and Management from Gettysburg College.
Jay grew up in Medford, New Jersey, and moved to Fredericksburg after college in 2005. He lives here today with his wife, Leta, and their children, Henry, Nicholas and Ezra. In his free time, Jay enjoys watching his boys play sports, cooking for his family and relaxing over conversations with friends. He also serves as a volunteer at Lifepoint Church.
