Scott W. McDermott,

Scott began his career as a financial advi­sor in 1993 after receiving his brokerage, investment advisory, and life and health insurance licenses. Before forming McDermott-Armati Wealth Strategies LLC, he had been with Morgan Stanley and its predecessor firms since 2000. Prior to entering the investment field, Scott spent seven years with Ernst & Young performing financial and tax services in Washing­ton, D.C. While at Ernst & Young, he earned his certified public accountant (CPA) license. He received his Bachelor of Science (cum laude) in accounting from the State University of New York at Albany in 1986. He also holds the distinguished Retirement Income Certified Professional (RICP®) designation.

Scott focuses on developing multigenerational financial and estate strategies for clients and their families. He works with their other professional advisors (CPAs and attorneys) to formulate estate plans designed to pass assets to the next generation in the most tax-efficient manner. He also utilizes over 3 decades of professional financial experience to customize investment and financial planning options for each client. In addition, Scott utilizes his institutional investment management experience to assist companies and nonprofits with short-term and long-term investment programs. These programs are designed to meet the investor’s objectives and are based upon the entity’s cash-flow requirements and investment policy guidelines.

Scott spends his spare time with his family and enjoys playing a variety of sports including baseball, basketball, tennis and golf. He also coaches his sons’ baseball, soccer and football teams.
