Gary is the president of True North Capital Group where he provides financial planning and investment management for families and individuals. He has 30 years of experience as a financial advisor.  He is married to Lorena Dávila Poling and has two adult children.  He loves deep-sea fishing, camping, visiting Mexico, grilling outside and woodworking.

Gary's family has a history of recognizing opportunities and working hard to achieve their dreams.  His great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great grandfather left his home in England and moved to Lynn, Massachusetts in 1642, just 22 years after the famous pilgrims made their trip to this great country.  Three hundred and nine years later, Charlie Poling (Gary’s father), at seventeen years of age, left a small coal mining town in West Virginia to join the U.S. Army and change his life, eventually working on the presidential helicopter crew for President Lyndon Johnson.

It’s that family spirit that caused Gary to leave a career with investment firms owned by large banks and establish True North Capital Group.  As the owner of an independent practice, he has the ability to provide his clients with unbiased, independent advice while still having the resources of a large firm and a team of knowledgeable professionals supporting his clients through Raymond James Financial Services.

Gary participates in Dave Ramsey’s SmartVestor referral program and will help you reach your retirement or other financial goals and manage your investments.

Gary and his wife Lorena believe strongly in giving back to their community and donate a percentage of his client’s advisory fees to several non-profit organizations.  Gary is a former board member for the Colorado Chapter of Make-A-Wish and served as Board Treasurer.  Gary and Lorena have also helped over 75 children volunteering as wish grantors with Make-A-Wish.  Gary is a former member of the New Mexico State University Foundation board and served as Vice-Chair of the Investment Committee.  He also was on the board of the Latino Community Foundation of Colorado for 10 years, and served as the board Treasurer. Gary and his wife Lorena have founded TU Legacy Fund designed to provide support in the areas of education and help for immediate needs of struggling families.
