ART SMITH, a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner, joined Barnes-Pettey Financial Advisors in 1996 and works out of our Oxford and Grenada locations. Prior to joining Barnes-Pettey, he worked with Irby Construction Company in Jackson, MS as an assistant superintendent for their various field offices. He received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Mississippi in 1994 and was awarded the Investment Management Consultant designation from Raymond James in 2006*. Art has been named to the Raymond James Executive Council consistently since 2006 including this past 2017 list**.

An elder in the Presbyterian Church (USA), Art has served as treasurer and stewardship director for the Sumner Presbyterian Church and as vice chair on the endowment committee of First Presbyterian Church in Oxford.

Art and his wife, Jene’, live in Oxford and have two children, Greer and Phillip. Art enjoys traveling, spending time with his family, and is an avid sportsman.

 *The Investment Management Consultant designation is awarded to those who complete the Raymond James Institute of Investment Management Consulting program.
