R.J. joined Carson Advisory Group as an intern in June 1995 and became licensed as a Financial Advisor in December of that year. He earned a B.B.A. in Economics from the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia. R.J. has been awarded the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® designation, signifying specialized knowledge of fiduciary responsibilities for advisory relationships. Additionally, he holds the Chartered Retirement Plans Specialist™ designation from the College for Financial Planning, demonstrating his expertise in administering retirement plans for businesses.

R.J. focuses on portfolio management and retirement income planning. He also manages 401(k) and pension plans for numerous small businesses, as well as endowments for local and regional non-profit organizations.

R.J. and his wife, Nikki, met while students at UGA. They reside in Watkinsville with their two sons, John and Nicholas, and two Labrador retrievers, Sadie and Stella. R.J. serves on the board of the UGA Wesley Foundation and presents personal finance courses for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UGA.
