It’s rare to find a financial advisor who is also a medical doctor, but you will in this case. Along with being a board-certified anesthesiologist trained in critical care, Doug has more than 20 years of experience as a financial advisor. “I have had a varied and non-linear career path that has given me unique work and life experiences,” says Doug.
As managing director, Doug is the lead on a six-person team that oversees $1.2 billion of client assets, as of 9/25/2024. The team is split between Palm Beach Gardens, Florida and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Doug also serves his own clients, which include entrepreneurs and senior executives who seek preservation, risk-controlled growth and efficient generational transfer of their wealth. He provides holistic wealth management and incorporates estate planning.
Doug diligently serves his clients with honesty and loyalty. “Clients need to trust their advisor with not only their funds but their family’s futures. They expect loyalty and honesty to develop this trust,” Doug adds.
Doug joined Raymond James in January 2021 after serving as a managing director at Alex. Brown since 2004. He began his financial career in 1999. He is a graduate of the Temple University medical school, class of 1992, and completed his residency in anesthesia at The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in American literature and theater design from Bennington College.
Doug is a member of the Palm Beach County Estate Planning Council and a past board member and president of the Philadelphia Estate Planning Council, which is the largest in the country. He is also a member of the Jewish Federation, and a trustee of the Jewish Family and Children’s Services.
Despite his success, Doug has always remained humble. “I grew up in a small family business that required hard work from a young age. I am a second-generation American and appreciate the opportunities this country has afforded me and my family,” Doug says.
Doug is originally from the Philadelphia area and resides in Palm Beach Gardens. In his free time, Doug plays the drums, enjoys golf, whitewater rafting, hiking and traveling. He is fluent in French.
