A desire to excel, and to lead well, has served his practice and his clients through a career that has borne witness to major changes in personal finance, investing and retirement income planning – a specialty of his work. His healthy sense of humor and deft communication skills give Alan the ability to explain even complex concepts and methods in a clear and understandable way. He believes that speaking with a common language is an important part of creating a strong partnership with his clients, making it easier for them to see and stay on a path to their goals.
Alan affiliated his practice with Raymond James in 2005. Since then, his experience and insight have helped guide the firm’s services and support. He has been a member of the Raymond James Financial Services Leaders Council since 2006*. For six years with a term ending in 2021, he was also a member of the Raymond James Technology Advisory Council, a group that guides the firm’s technology development pipeline.
Prior to joining with Raymond James, Alan’s practice had been with A.G. Edwards in Buffalo for 20 years. He began his career with Smith Barney Harris Upham in Philadelphia. He earned an MBA in 1981 and a Bachelor of Science in accounting in 1979.
Alan was born and raised in Buffalo and now lives in Clarence with his wife, Michele. The couple have two children, Jaime and Jason. Outside the office, you will often find him golfing, reading and spending time with friends and loved ones.
