Kara began her journey at Oak Knoll in 2015. At the time, she was looking for a career change. Her job was mundane, and she was looking for something to light her soul on fire.
When she first started here, she had no knowledge of the financial planning industry. She took a huge leap of faith leaving what she knew she was proficient in for a job she didn’t know if she would be able to understand. She started as a receptionist and here we are, years later, with her soul afire. Kara is proud to be our practice’s first female financial advisor.
“Oak Knoll is where I found my true passion, helping people. Especially people who were like me when I first started, people who didn’t understand the importance of finances, planning, and everything in between – about planning not just for themselves but for the ones they love and care about too. The way they care for and take care of people, you just don’t see it every day. I knew this was where I was supposed to be” she adds.
What Kara loves most about this industry is building relationships, educating people on making plans with solutions to their goals, dreams, and fears, and working with women of all ages to start planning their financial journey.
She wants everyone to experience that it’s not just about having a financial advisor, it’s about having someone on your side who you can trust completely. “Nothing fulfills me more than you trusting me to help build your financial journey with you, not just for you,” says Kara.
Kara lives in Wilmington and has spent almost all her life in the local area. She enjoys coffee, true crime podcasts, road trips, trying new and interesting foods, and hanging out with her family.
