When Laura hears through the grapevine that a client whom she has worked with for years is enjoying life in retirement, she can be confident that the insurance and financial planning support work she has done with our advisors has paid off.
Laura joined Oak Knoll Financial Strategies’ predecessor practice in 2008. She brought with her experience from the insurance and banking industry, bookkeeping and accounting knowledge, and people skills.
In addition to annual tax school, specific insurance classes and training, she is studying for her series 7 and 66 licenses. Laura earned her Securities Industry Essentials® (SIE®) certification in 2024 and was accorded the Financial Paraplanner Qualified ProfessionalSM designation in 2021. She is the first of the Oak Knoll staff to have that title.
Laura’s job satisfaction comes from knowing that when she is with a client, they have her full attention and she is aware of their needs. She enjoys working with clients through many different “life events”. Working within the Oak Knoll processes, she ensures tasks are completed by our “hands-on” staff.
Outside of work, Laura has participated with the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life for 10 years, is a volunteer for various church-related activities and helps with the local annual ShareFest event. She is working towards her “All Body Shapes” yoga certification.
Laura lives in Wilmington and, in her free time, enjoys yoga, handbell choir, shopping and vacationing. Laura’s preference? A remote office in the Virgin Islands, especially during the winter. Why not?
