Promoting financial literacy within the community

We care very much about the well-being of others in the community – and that’s why for years we have worked with indigent seniors, women’s organizations, students and others to promote financial literacy and the basics of informed saving, borrowing and investing.

We have also helped develop an online resource, Life Goals, to promote financial literacy, and we invite you to share it with the young people in your life. This site is one of the ways we provide financial literacy education to clients’ children and grandchildren.

We are also proud to have helped spearhead and support a groundbreaking financial literacy initiative throughout all K-12 Miami Dade County Public Schools (MDCPS). As a result of our joint effort, a comprehensive financial literacy curriculum was made available to teachers and all students beginning with the 2016 school year.

We have also participated in events for Funding the Future, a nonprofit with the ambitious mission of teaching financial literacy to every student in America. We are very passionate about this work and our ongoing involvement in educating children so that they can make smart financial decisions. These initiatives caught the attention of Investment News, which interviewed Laura for a 2019 article.

The United States ranks 14th on the Standard & Poor’s Global Financial Literacy Survey, just above Botswana. The need for financial education in our community is great, and as financial industry professionals we believe it is our duty to help others gain the skills needed to steer their financial futures.

Steckler Wealth Management Group produced a brief video highlighting the importance and impact of their financial literacy initiative for kids.
