A chance encounter in a Verizon Wireless store provides a fresh college graduate with a new and unexpected opportunity. Little did that young woman know, that path would involve a million diapers (literally), a passion for helping people reach their dreams, and finding her own “million-dollar lifestyle” in Vermont.
While this may sound like a pitch for a 2000s-era TV movie, it is the story of our own Rebecca Monty. Rebecca took a chance on a random job offer over 15 years ago in New Jersey (with health insurance!) and quickly found her calling. Her compassionate ear and willingness to truly understand her clients’ stories help her guide her clients through the myriad of decisions needed to reach their goals.
Her commitment to helping families extends beyond the workday. As a past board member of the Vermont Family Network, a member of the Junior League of Champlain Valley, and a former Investment Committee member for the United Way, Rebecca has made a difference in the lives of countless community members, including our youngest members. When she was president of the Junior League in 2020, they marked the distribution of their millionth diaper.
All it took was a summer trip to Vermont and she was hooked. The #lovewhereyoulive culture pulled her in and she knew this was the place she would call home. Rebecca and her family spend their time enjoying all that Vermont has to offer – exploring the areas lakes and streams, trying to ski, enjoying community events, snuggling by a crackling fire.
