Russell Riggan,

AAMS® President, TFS Private Wealth Advisor, RJFS

Russell is dedicated to helping his clients pursue the many important goals they have, such as building their investment portfolio and preserving their wealth, funding college for their children, enjoying a comfortable retirement and leaving a legacy for their loved ones.

The clients he serves include families, small business owners, corporate executives, farmers and ranchers, retirees and nonprofit organizations.

Owning multiple small businesses and being involved in a multigenerational family business has allowed Russell to experience generational business planning and estate planning and relate to the challenges and opportunities experienced by small business owners.

Russell joined Raymond James in May 2021. “Raymond James assists me with providing comprehensive financial strategies tailored to the unique needs of each individual, family, business, trust or organization,” Russell says. “Raymond James also supports me in serving my clients with a focus on promoting a Christian-based practice.”

Russell chose to name his practice Talent Financial Services after a biblical parable. “In Matthew 25:14-30, Jesus tells the Parable of the Talents. It contains a critical lesson about how we are to be stewards of our God-given abilities and resources,” Russell says. “Talent Financial Services is devoted to helping our clients be good stewards of wealth.”

Previously in his career, Russell was a financial advisor with Edward Jones Financial in Snyder, Texas, for nearly 15 years. He earned a bachelor’s degree in finance and an MBA from Texas Tech University.

Russell was invited to the prestigious Barron’s 100 Summit in both 2019 and 2020. He is a three-time qualifier for the Raymond James Chairman's Council, recognized in 2022, 2023, and 2024 as one of the top 100 financial advisors at Raymond James. Additionally, Russell was named to the Forbes list of Best-in-State Wealth Advisors† in both 2024 and 2025. In 2025, he was also ranked among Barron’s Top 1,200 Financial Advisors.

Russell serves on the Raymond James Private Wealth Advisory Council, a prestigious committee of financial advisors within the firm. He has also earned the **Private Wealth Advisor designation from Raymond James, which reflects his extensive experience in managing the financial concerns of families, individuals, and organizations of significant wealth. This designation highlights his mastery of the methods and resources necessary to support their expansive financial interests.

Active in the community, Russell served as board chair of Cogdell Memorial Hospital from 2009-2023, and currently serves as a football and basketball coach for both Ira Youth Sports and Shining Stars Sports. He founded a non-profit that raises money to support youth activities in the communities that TFS serves.

Russell is a native of Snyder, Texas, and lives here with his children, Kynlee and Rhett. In his free time, Russell enjoys team roping, hunting, and fitness activities.

† The Forbes Top Wealth Advisors Best-in-State 2025 ranking, developed by SHOOK Research, is based on an algorithm of qualitative criteria, mostly gained through telephone and in-person due diligence interviews, and quantitative data. This ranking is based upon the period from 6/30/2023 to 6/30/2024 and was released on 4/8/2025. Those advisors that are considered have a minimum of seven years of experience, and the algorithm weighs factors like revenue trends, assets under management, compliance records, industry experience and those that encompass best practices in their practices and approach to working with clients. Portfolio performance is not a criteria due to varying client objectives and lack of audited data. Out of approximately 48,944 nominations, roughly 9,722 advisors received the award. This ranking is not indicative of an advisor's future performance, is not an endorsement, and may not be representative of individual clients' experience. Neither Raymond James nor any of its Financial Advisors or RIA firms pay a fee in exchange for this award/rating. Compensation provided for using the rating. The rankings are based on data provided by 7,669 individual advisors and their firms and include qualitative and quantitative criteria, and 1,200 won. Time period upon which the rating is based is from 09/30/2023 to 09/30/2024 and was released on 03/10/2025. Factors included in the rankings: assets under management, revenue produced for the firm, regulatory record, quality of practice and philanthropic work. Investment performance is not an explicit component because not all advisors have audited results and because performance figures often are influenced more by clients’ risk tolerance than by an advisor’s investment picking abilities. The ranking may not be representative of any one client’s experience, is not an endorsement, and is not indicative of advisor’s future performance.
