Greg Bowden,

CFP®, AIF®, CEPA® Vice President, Investments

Growing up in a little town outside of Flint Michigan, I learned the value of hard work and education at a young age. I earned a degree in mathematics from Alma College while playing football and running track for the Scots. Upon graduation, I began my career teaching high school math and science and coaching football and track. I married my high school sweetheart in June of 2001, and shortly thereafter, we moved to Texas to continue our journey in teaching and coaching.

In 2006, I made a career change and joined A.G. Edwards & Sons as a Financial Advisor. I survived the buyouts that followed by Wachovia Securities and finally Wells Fargo Advisors. In 2013, my team of advisors left Wells Fargo Advisors to form the Goodwater Wealth Management Group of Raymond James. Knowing the value of education and having the desire to continually improve, I undertook the rigorous CFP® certification process in 2009, and more recently earned the Accredited Investment Fiduciary, AIF® in 2018. Both of these certifications help me serve my clients in developing personalized financial plans to navigate the risks of investing and achieve their ultimate financial goals. I serve as Goodwater’s lead advisor for our institutional clients, advising on both qualified and non-qualified business retirement plans, foundations, and endowments.

My wife and I have been blessed with three children who are currently in middle school, and we call Georgetown home. As former teachers, we both know the struggles and challenges that our educators face, so I was honored to be a part of the founding group of the Georgetown ISD Education Foundation. My role as president of the Foundation was rewarding and I am extremely proud of the difference the foundation has made.

Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. owns the certification marks CFP®, Certified Financial Planner,  CFP Logo Flame Design and  CFP Logo Plaque Design in the U.S., which it awards to individuals who successfully complete CFP Board’s initial and ongoing certification requirements.
