Philip A. Murphy, CFA®, AIF® Managing Director 845-512-1113

There are two things that I have always enjoyed doing. The first is helping others. There is no better feeling than knowing you had a positive impact on someone’s life. The second is finance. I really like working with numbers. I could not think of a better line of work where the two things I truly enjoy are integral to being successful.

Phil has several key roles on our team. He manages all of the trading, investing and rebalancing for our clients’ portfolios, he is involved with the analysis of the investments, and in addition to managing client relationships, he manages our team’s finances and expenses.

As a Chartered Financial Analyst, Phil is skilled in high-level, specialized asset-management responsibilities, including security analysis, portfolio management and business reporting. As an Accredited Investment Fiduciary, he has extensive knowledge in plan distributions, plan design and implementation, plan establishment and operation, and fiduciary standards of care.

Phil joined The Mahoney Group in 2003 from Morgan Stanley in New York City, where he served as treasury controller and mortgage-backed securities controller. He earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Siena College. He is a member of the CFA Institute and the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Division 3 in Pearl River.
