Raymond James introduces equity financing for advisors to achieve their business goals through a trusted partner

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Raymond James today announced a new equity financing offering within its umbrella of Practice Capital Solutions to empower financial advisors to access capital conveniently while maintaining autonomy over their practices. With the firm as a trusted minority equity partner, advisors can receive the financing required to achieve their business goals, according to Tash Elwyn, president, Private Client Group.

Qualified practices work with Raymond James directly to exchange a minority equity stake in their practice and revenue for the capital required to pursue their unique business needs, including planning for a succession, growing the team and enhancing operations, or preparing for a merger or acquisition. Practices retain full operating control and business continuity throughout the investment, with the option to buy back on clearly defined, favorable terms.

“With equity financing through Practice Capital Solutions, advisors can fund the unique vision they have for their practice without having to sacrifice the long-term interests of their clients and team at the discretion of an outside investor. Further, they can be confident in their partnership with Raymond James, both for its strength and stability as a firm with one of the strongest capital ratios in the industry, and for its proven commitment to advisor autonomy,” said Elwyn.

Practice Capital Solutions at Raymond James encompasses the firm’s longstanding debt financing for succession and acquisition loans in addition to new equity financing. Both debt and equity financing options can be strategically combined for advisors to complete a full sale of their practice on their terms.

"By partnering closely with advisors, we’ve crafted a solution that elegantly addresses the challenges they face when monetizing their practice to ensure that our capital solutions not only serve advisors and their clients but also align seamlessly with the Raymond James culture,” added Emma Boston, vice president, Strategic Operations. “Our approach reinforces book ownership and advisor independence, solving capital needs while strengthening our partnership as their equity investor. Most importantly, we achieve all of this while ensuring that the advisor maintains full control — over their practice, their day-to-day operations, and their legacy.”
